Onglaze porcelain

What is the difference between an Onglaze and an Inglaze?

The inglaze decoration is applied to the finished fired and glazed porcelain. This is followed by the so-called decorative firing at a temperature between 900°C and 1200°C. As a result, the glaze melts and the decor sinks into the glaze. So the decor can connect with the glaze mass. Both, the inner and the outer surface of the porcelain, can be finished by inglaze. The minimum order quantity is 100 pieces.

The onglaze decoration, on the other hand, takes place on the glaze of the porcelain and is preserved at a firing temperature of approx. 700°C to 900°C. In this method, the printing is only on the outer surfaces of the porcelain and on the plate rims possible, a printing on the inner surface (mirror) of the plate would be damaged by the cutting over time.

Which porcelain series can be printed?

You can have all porcelain series printed in our assortment, except bone china and already decorated porcelain. For individual requests, we are happy to advise and check the implementation.

How do I know how big my logo should be printed?

The printable area depends on both, the type of item and its size. For technical reasons, certain distances to the drinking edge and the lower edge of the item must be taken into account. Items with handle also require a certain distance from the handle. During customizing, your logo will be adapted proportionately to the product or the printing area.

Where can the porcelain be printed?

Plates can be customized on the rim and on the mirror (inglaze only). For cups, your logo may be on the left, right or opposite of the handle. Bowls can be customized on the outside.

What are Pantone colors?

The term "Pantone colors" usually refers to the Pantone Matching System, which was introduced in 1963. This color system is based on 14 primary colors. Mixed with different colors, they represent the other colors of the Pantone system. Each color is assigned a unique number.

HKS colors are premixed colors used in printing. There are 88 basic colors and a total of 3520 solid colors in the HKS color chart. Companies often have HKS tones as house colors, so the appearance of the colors is always almost identical.

Which requirements must the logo file fulfill?

In order to ensure an optimum quality of the decoration, we need a vectorized file of your logo (*.ai or *.eps file.). We are happy to create a vector file for you for 35 €.

Logo embroidery

A logo embroidery is made completely according to your template (e.g. PDF file). Logos can also be changed according to your wishes, e.g. with another text. The freedom of design are virtually unlimited.

Monogram or text embroideries, on the other hand, are done according to predefined fonts, sizes and colors. Here is an extensive selection available, so certainly the right thing for you.

Logo embroidery or patch?

The logo embroidery is applied directly to the textile and thus looks more noble. Product and customizing become one. Patches or embroidered emblems, have the advantage that they are reusable and can survive the carrier product. Simply remove and reuse on another product!

Embroidery or printing?

Based on our experience, we especially recommend embroidery in the commercial sector because they are more durable and robust than printings. While a print is washable up to a maximum of 40°C, the washability up to 95°C for embroidery is unbeatable.

Are there limits to the embroidery?

Since single-color yarns are used for embroideries, unfortunately no color gradients can be realized here. Also very fine details in a logo are sometimes difficult to implement. In such cases, we strongly recommend that you have a preview created and then put the order into production. This delays the delivery time, but results in getting the result you desire.

How do I know how big my logo should be embroidered?

For embroideries in the chest area we recommend a size of 10 cm width for round or square shapes. On the collar, the logo should have a maximum of 1.5 cm in height, on the sleeve a maximum of 8 cm in width. On aprons or jackets, the logo may, however, like to be a bit larger. Our experts in customizing will be pleased to advise you to find the right logo size for you.

Which yarns and thread colors are used?

For our embroidery, we rely on the highest quality yarns, which are characterized by longevity and resistance to boiling up to 95°C. We only use colors from the Madeira color chart shown on our logo embroidery page. So we certainly find the right color for your corporate design.

What requirements must my logo template meet?

We create your logo based on a file template (formats: .jpg, PDF or vectorized file) with at least 300 kB or a resolution of 120 dpi.

Why are nodules, threads, fleece and foil remnants visible after embroidery?

For soft, stretchy fabrics (such as polo shirts) we put a water-soluble film under the embroidery to achieve a sharp, clean embroidery image. If any remains of this film are in your embroidery design, they will dissolve during washing.

To stabilize the embroidery, we also use an underlay fleece on the inside of the textile. After washing, this fleece softens but remains visible. Please do not tear the fleece out, otherwise the embroidery image may change

Threads and knots are part of the embroidery image and do not represent a quality defect. There are threads on the inside of the textile (back of the embroidery image). Please do not cut these threads off, otherwise the entire threadline could break loose.

How can I check the quality of your embroidery?

In order to get a comprehensive overview of the quality of our customizing, you can order one or more of our customizing samples in our online shop without obligation. If you have extensively checked the samples, please send them back. So you can make an informed decision or compare different types of customizing. What are stencil and setup costs?

In order to be able to embroider your logo, an embroidery file must first be created from the logo template. This effort, the so-called stencil costs, are a one-off and do not apply to follow-up orders. The setup costs are the costs for the setup of the machine, e.g. for setting up the tenter or changing the colors used. Because this conversion is necessary anew with each order, the setup costs arise per order.

Can I still view the subject before production?

On request, you will receive a preliminary preview in case of order prior to the final production release, e.g. a preview of the embroidery image. This subtraction will be sent to you as a digital file. In fact, embroidery is only after release of the preliminary preview.

Printing on textiles

Which printing method is the right one?

We offer flex printing and screen printing.

Flex printing is ideal for small quantities. The print is very durable (washable up to 60°C), achieves a high opacity and stands out with clear colors and contours. Technically, the motif is attached to the textile with the aid of a film during flex printing. This is done by means of a transfer press - with high pressure and heat. Most of our customers prefer this variant.

Screen printing we recommend only for larger quantities, since high stencil costs incurred (pre-printing costs by firm and screen creation). In addition, the price is heavily dependent on the number of colors used.

Embroidery or printing?

In the commercial sector we recommend embroideries because of our experience, because they are more durable and robust than printings. The washability at 95°C is unbeatable.

However, the printing brings a greater freedom of design with itself: Details can be realized in uncanny quality and attention to detail.
