Traditionally, stylish dinner plates are white and round. This is because classic plates are made from porcelain, which is naturally white and is not dyed. In a modern interpretation, dinner plates can be black or colourful, square or oval. This is not only on-trend, but also decorative in a contemporary table setting. At LUSINI, you’ll find deep and shallow dinner plates, as well as various shapes and designs, available individually or as a complete tableware set.

• Multicoloured plates: Multicoloured plates bring cheer and variety to the table. With the right choice of colours, dishes can be presented even more appetisingly.

• White dinner plates: A classic of fine dining. Easy to combine with other colours and timelessly elegant.

• Oval plates Oval plates: Thanks to their distinctive shape, they are a perfect match for a modern and innovative kitchen.

• Square plates : Create a very tidy look on the table with clean lines.

• Flat plates: Ideal for all kinds of dishes, from omelettes to desserts. You’ll find flat plates in many different designs at LUSINI.

• Round plates: A standard feature on most tables, both in the catering trade and at home.

The most common sizes for dinner plates

Dinner plates usually have a diameter of 20 to 30 centimetres. If the plate has no rim, the diameter corresponds to the entire surface area of the plate. If the plate has a rim, the surface area of the plate is reduced accordingly. Dessert plates or cake plates measure around 20 to 24 centimetres. Dinner plates are significantly larger.

How to clean dinner plates

Dinner plates are best cleaned in the dishwasher. This ensures your plates are cleaned thoroughly and hygienically. All dinner plates available from LUSINI are dishwasher-safe and therefore ideally suited to the demands of the catering industry. Over time, crockery can break. Individual damaged plates can be disposed of in the household waste. However, large quantities of broken porcelain or stoneware are classed as construction waste and should be taken to a recycling centre.
