Like conventional tablecloths, outdoor tablecloths are available in all common catering formats. The classics are square tablecloths in sizes ranging from 80 x 80 centimeters to 150 x 150 centimeters. They are suitable for bistro tables as well as dining tables. Rectangular outdoor tablecloths fit standard table sizes with dimensions of 150 x 190 or 130 x 170 centimeters.

When buying your tablecloths, make sure that the size is sufficient for the dimensions of your tables. Square tablecloths can be used with an overlap, while rectangular tablecloths tend to cover the entire table top. Similar to outdoor placemats, outdoor tablecloths protect your tables and at the same time create an attractive look in the outdoor area of your restaurant or café.

What is the difference between outdoor tablecloths and a normal tablecloth?

In contrast to a "normal" tablecloth for indoor use, outdoor tablecloths are dirt and water repellent thanks to a surface sealant. This means that the tablecloths do not necessarily have to be covered if an unforeseen shower occurs during your outdoor catering. Compared to conventional fabric tablecloths, outdoor tablecloths are hard-wearing and easy to wipe clean. Drinks splashes, sauce stains or other stains can be easily wiped off with a damp cloth. The material is also dirt-repellent and easy to clean. This means that red wine or sauce stains cannot set in.

What material are tablecloths made of to make them weatherproof?

The tablecloths offered here are weatherproof because they are made of outdoor textiles. This means that synthetic fabrics such as polyester or blended fabrics with polyester and cotton are used to make the tablecloths. The advantage of this material or mix of materials is that it is weather-resistant and does not or hardly absorbs moisture.

This distinguishes these tablecloths from outdoor tablecloths made of cellulose or paper. These products are not weatherproof, but can be easily disposed of after use.

Caring for and cleaning outdoor tablecloths - practical tips

Outdoor tablecloths, like outdoor table runners, are made of a weatherproof fabric. These tablecloths are very easy to clean with a damp cloth and a little washing-up liquid if they are very dirty. Finer tablecloths for outdoor use can also be cleaned in the washing machine at higher temperatures, depending on the design.
