What towel sizes are available?
In Germay there are six classic towel sizes used in the hotel industry and for professional use. Although some manufacturers deviate from these sizes, the following dimensions have become established as standard towel sizes:

The standard towel size (50 × 100 cm)
How big are towels actually? The classic towel measures 50 × 100 cm or, in the slightly larger version, 60 × 110 cm. This towel size is ideal for drying your face or rubbing your skin dry after washing. Depending on your habits, this towel size may also be sufficient for drying yourself after showering. Many people appreciate the more manageable size compared to a bath towel. In the hotel industry, however, each guest is always provided with a bath towel and a hand towel.
The shower towel (70 × 140 cm)
Measuring 70 × 140 centimeters, shower towels are ideal for wrapping yourself in after a long shower. Compared to normal towel sizes, shower towels are considerably longer and wider and can therefore absorb more moisture. Large shower towels are also particularly practical for people with long hair, as they make it very easy to dry long locks.
The bath towel (100 × 150 cm)
A bath towel, also known as a beach towel, measures 100 × 150 cm and is even larger than a shower towel. After swimming in the pool, lake, or sea, you can wrap yourself completely in it and dry off. Due to their size, they are also well suited for use as a mat on pool loungers or as protection from hot sand on the beach.
The sauna towel (70 × 200 cm)
Sauna towels are the longest towels on the market. They are designed so that you can lie comfortably on them in the sauna and then wrap them around your body afterwards. Compared to bath towels, sauna towels are significantly narrower. This narrower width is practical, as it allows the sauna towel to fit comfortably on the sauna bench.
The face towel (30 × 30 cm)
The smallest towel size is the face towel, measuring just 30 × 30 cm. In the terry towel range, only the washcloth is smaller. As its name suggests, the soap cloth is used, similar to a washcloth, to lather up with soap. Today, soap cloths are also popular as small guest towels in guest bathrooms. However, these small cotton towels are also practical as make-up removal cloths or for washing babies.
The guest towel (30 × 50 cm)
How big are guest towels? They usually measure 30 × 50 cm. They are generally used in guest bathrooms for drying hands. The size of the guest towel is perfectly adequate for this purpose. They are usually changed very frequently, generally after guests have left. Alternatively, these models are also well suited as face towels.
